December had better be awesome

One of these days I will feel neither nauseated nor dizzy, and that will be a very good day.

Yeah, I missed another couple days of NaBloPoMo, but I was sickity-sick-sick. Still. Again. I’m on some different medications now, but it’s the same sick. For the last few days I’ve been on antibiotics for a urinary tract infection (great timing, body, thanks), and I think they might have triggered this most recent bout of continuous nausea and off-and-on fuzzyheadedness, but I can’t be sure.

I’m trying to take my medications one at a time so I can figure out which ones help and which ones make me sicker. The idea of being on so many pills almost makes me feel ill in and of itself.

Ensure is the only thing that reliably calms my stomach for a while. John recommended it to me—he subsisted on it for a bit when he was in the hospital for a while and couldn’t keep food down—but the stuff is NASTY. It’s thick and rich and creamy and blech, but at least I don’t have to chew it. Chewing food gives my stomach more time to convince my throat not to swallow.

On the bright side, I did manage to get some exercise yesterday when I walked Sam to our neighborhood dog park, where he had a blast chasing an energetic dog named Lexy who had eyes only for her tennis ball. Today, though, it’s been raining all morning, and he WILL NOT go outside, even to pee. He’s going on sixteen hours without a bathroom break—I don’t know how his bladder hasn’t exploded yet.

I was observing your analogy: ping-pong | tennis | racquetball. Intriguing… Perfect approach: “one at a time” [order matters?]. Right. Now, seriously, I hope you find healthy [peaceful] weeks soon. Um abraço.
