Oops

I meant to write a post yesterday, of course, but I went out to a play yesterday with John and my mom, and the play ran long, and we got back late, and I forgot. So it goes.

And now I’ve put this one off so long that I didn’t write one today (yesterday, technically) either. Blah, whatevs. I feel crummy again tonight, and I already missed the first day of November to visit the ER, so I wasn’t in the running for the prizes anyway.

It seems more nights than not I get into this cycle of feeling sick and being afraid. I don’t know if I actually feel worse at night, or if I just notice it more when I’m tired or when I have nothing else to do.

Do you ever get that feeling that your heart skips a beat? It’s like an intense squeezing for a half-second or so, and then it’s gone. Tell me I’m not the only one, because it’s happened four five times tonight, and I DO NOT LIKE IT. Even if it’s totally innocuous, it makes me feel like I’m about to die of a heart attack (yes, at 23…shut up). So if I do, you heard it here first. Not that that’s much consolation, I bet. *knocks on wood*

The play, by the way, was Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia, which I was excited to see because I think Stoppard is teh shiznit. I’ve never seen Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, but I’ve read it and love it to death. I did get to see The Real Inspector Hound when I was in Boston a few years ago. I don’t remember much about it, except that a guy in a wheelchair fell down some stairs, and there was a dead body on the stage when the lights came up that remained there for the length of the play and was played by a live actor. He got quite a round of applause.

Anyway, I really liked Arcadia—it was clever. With a runtime of just under three hours, it could have been a bit shorter, but there was a good deal of exposition to get through, and the actors were talking mighty fast already. It was nice to see a work of art explaining science without either getting it wrong or missing the point entirely. Enjoyable.

Yep, my heart ’skips a beat’ occasionally….so we’re at least with the two of us! Don’t worry…skipping a beat means its still beating!
