Why college is totally worth it

Last weekend I saw La Cenerentola on a ten-dollar student ticket for a seat in the orchestra section that usually sells for seventy bucks. Apparently UH has access to some sweet group deals.

Stay in school, kids. Someday you too can go to the opera for cheap to sit among the sparkly people who eat fancy cars for breakfast and pretend that this isn’t your second opera ever no in fact you rather enjoy a regular night out at the opera when you can spare a moment from all those board meetings and fundraising galas knowwhatImean?

There’s no classier way to get to the opera, by the way, than running through the Wortham Center in cheap-ass boots as the ushers swing the doors closed because you parked in some forgotten, rotting dungeon section of the parking garage, then walked several hundred feet down the wrong tunnel in the wrong direction. THE SIGNS LIE.

So I wasn’t late to arrive, but decide to hit the bathroom at the LAST minute before show time. Since I’m not used to wearing heels, I took them off and ran back to the auditorium barefoot. To top it all off, the skirt I was wearing? I bought at the Goodwill for $2.49.

So no worries, you’re not the only classy lass at the opera.

Youtube subscriber here. I have a random thought, I just went to the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. They have hundreds of chandeliers that raise and fall from the ceilings on command. They resemble the big bang. Do a search for pictures of them, they’re realy really cool.
