Honor roll
Starbucks stores in Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, and Portland are no longer using trans fats in any of their food products, starting today.
Good news, of course, but no word on when these changes will make their way to Houston stores, except that it “will take some time.” Sure sucks to be stranded out here in the uncivilized wilderness of…the fourth-largest city in the US. Ahem.
Guess I’ll have to drive to—gosh, none of those places are remotely close* to Texas, are they?—San Diego for my chocolate chip cookie fix. Or I could, you know, not eat the cookies for a couple years. Le sigh.

Odd that they wouldn’t be using it in just some of the stores. They probably have producers in different parts of the country and only some of them are making the change. I think my dad actually worked at a company once that produced stuff for Starbucks …

Yeah, the article said it had to do with regional producers not all implementing the changes simultaneously.
