Hypercorrection
In a YouTube comment today, from a person who is definitely not stupid and otherwise has a decent grasp of grammar:
the video clip was kind’ve weird
That’s kind’ve, used in place of kind of. Looks like he ran the shoulda/woulda/coulda transformation backward on kinda, probably subconsciously. I’ve never seen anyone do that before. Fascinating, innit?
